An independent heritage with exceptional customer satisfaction
Edward Proffitt and Hugh Gough originally set up the estate agency in Watford, as Proffitt & Gough. 25 years later, Graham Holt joined and along with Edward, they developed the business into one of the most respected estate agencies in the area. The founding members retired in 1977 and 12 years later, Graham’s son and current Managing Director, Richard Holt, came on-board. Over subsequent years, they expanded the business to Kings Langley and then Abbots Langley.
As the business entered the new millennium, the Watford office relocated to larger premises; the company was renamed Proffitt & Holt and when Graham retired four years later, Richard took over the helm. As an exclusive member of The Guild of Property Professionals, Richard has since developed the estate agency to attract London buyers into the area, with a team working from an associate office in Mayfair, Park Lane. Despite these major developments, the family ethos remains, to provide a professional and personal service.
